Samantha’s table privacy policy

Samantha's Table is a personal matchmaking service, and your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who sees it, and how you can ask us to change or delete it.
Who we are
Samantha's Table, LLC is a private matchmaking service founded by Samantha Daniels and registered in New York. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means Samantha's Table, LLC. It applies to our websites (samanthastable.com and samanthadaniels.info), our social media pages (such as Instagram), our questionnaire, our events and event registrations, our emails, our newsletters (currently sent through Kit and Substack), and any conversations you have with us, including direct messages, text messages and phone calls. When you interact with us on a social media platform or subscribe to one of our newsletters, that platform's own privacy policy also applies.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our questionnaire, register for an event, interact with us on social media, sign up for our newsletter, or talk with us, you may share:
Contact details, such as your name, email, phone number, city and social media handles
Background, such as your age, occupation, education, religion, marital status, children and where you're from
Preferences, such as what you're looking for in a partner, your personality, hobbies, lifestyle and travel
Photos you choose to send us
Payment details when you buy a service, become a client or member, or buy an event ticket (processed by our payment provider; we don't store card numbers)
Information from other sources. Some people are part of our database before they have ever contacted us. A friend, client or colleague may recommend you, or we may come across you while researching potential matches, for example through a public Instagram, LinkedIn or dating profile. In that case we may keep a short record, such as your name, age, city, occupation, links to your public profiles, and notes on why you could be a good match.
If you have never been in touch with us:
We use your information only to consider you as a possible match and to reach out to see if you're interested.
We never share your contact details, and we won't introduce you to anyone without your OK.
If you tell us you're not interested or ask to be removed, we delete your record.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will.
Information collected automatically. Our websites and email tools may record basic data such as your browser type and whether you opened an email.
How we use your information
To understand what you're looking for and find people who may be a good match
To arrange introductions, meet-and-greets and dates, and to run our events, including registration, check-in and sending you event details
To contact you about our services, events and newsletter, including products, services and events from other companies that we like and recommend
To run our business, including billing, record keeping and improving our service
To meet legal obligations
About our recommendations. When we recommend another company's products or services, we don't share your information with that company. Some of the companies we recommend may pay us, give us a commission when you buy, or give us free products or services. Either way, we only recommend things we have tried ourselves and truly like. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.
Text messages. We never sell or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with anyone for their own marketing. If we send you marketing texts, you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
Links to other websites. Our websites, emails and newsletters may link to other companies' websites, including the brands we recommend. We are not responsible for those websites or their privacy practices, so please review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
How we share your information
With a potential match. Before an introduction, we may share a short profile, such as your first name, age, city, occupation, a photo and a few interests. We share only what's needed and never your contact details without your OK.
With service providers who help us run the business, such as our website, email, payment and cloud storage providers, and event invitation and registration services (such as Squarespace, Paperless Post, Eventbrite, Evite and the like). Under their terms of service, these services promise to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us. For events, we may also share a guest's name with the venue or co-host when they need it to run the event.
When required by law, to enforce our agreements or collect payments owed, or to protect the safety of our clients or others.
If our business changes hands, your information may pass to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
We never sell your information.
How we use technology and AI
We use secure business software, including AI, to organize our records and keep our notes up to date. We control how this software is used, and we choose business services that are not permitted to sell your information, use it for their own purposes, or use it to train their AI models. We do not use AI to make matches; every match and introduction is determined and overseen by Samantha and her staff.
Cookies, analytics and ads
Our websites use cookies and similar tools, set by us and by providers such as Squarespace and Google, to make the sites work, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use them. We may also use advertising tools, such as the Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram, to show our ads to people who have visited our websites.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, change your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings, or opt out of interest-based ads at optout.aboutads.info. If you'd rather Google Analytics not count your visits, Google offers a simple browser add-on that turns it off (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Some parts of our websites may not work properly without cookies.
Do Not Track. Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" setting. There's no agreed-upon way for websites to respond to it yet, so for now our websites don't change anything when it's turned on.
Sensitive details and photos
Matchmaking is personal, so some of what you share, such as religion, relationship history, children, income and photos, is sensitive. We treat it with extra care. We use it only for matchmaking, and we never post your photos or details publicly without your written permission. When we tell a potential match about you, we share personal details only in general terms and only when they matter for the introduction. We may take photos at our events; if you'd rather not be photographed, or not have a photo of you shared, just tell us.
How we protect and keep your information
We keep your information in password-protected systems that only Samantha and authorized team members can access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Beware of impersonators. We will never ask for your password, or for your credit card or bank details, by email, text or social media message. If you get a message like that claiming to be from us, don't reply, and let us know.
We keep your information until you ask us to delete it. We don't remove records on a set schedule because matchmaking is a long game: someone we met years ago can turn out to be the right match for a client today. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep something.
If you are a matchmaking client, your contract explains what happens to the information you gave us when your contract ends, including your choice to stay in our database for future introductions.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
Delete your information, or remove you from our matchmaking database
Stop sending you emails. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or you can simply reply and ask.
To make a request, email us at [samantha@samanthastable.com]. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws, and we'll honor them.
Adults only
Our services are for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on our websites with its effective date, and let you know by email if the changes are significant.
Your client agreement
If you have signed a membership, client or consulting agreement with us and it says something different from this policy, the terms of your agreement apply.
